About me

Born and raised in Egypt, with many interests ranging from machine learning, musicpolitics, and startups.

Ahmed is a third-year PhD student at the Institute for Research in Computer Science and Random Systems (IRISA) at Université Bretagne Sud, France jointly with​ ​the Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing group at ETH.​ ​His main work at the EcoVision Lab is on the RegisTree project. He holds M.S. degree in Informatics Science from Nile University, Egypt in 2017. His research interest focus is on computer vision, machine learning, and image processing with applications in remote sensing. Currently, Nassar is a third-year PhD student and an intern at IBM Research at the “Scalable Knowledge Ingestion” group.

Apart from his job, he is an enthusiastic songwriter with deep influences that range all the way from Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Soundgarden, Alter Bridge to Queens of the Stone Age. Currently, Nassar is recording his solo album. During his Bachelor studies, he was very active politically having served as the President of the Student Union of Nile University for 2 consecutive years and continues to this day to be profoundly interested in political affairs. Nassar has also co-founded several startups and volunteers as a consultant for others.
